| First Off Become Educated Before you ever trade get an idea of what the pins you have are worth. How do you do that you might ask. Mainly "ASK QUESTIONS FROM OTHERS". If you are at a pin show go around to a few tables and look to see if the pins you are trading are available and find out how much they are selling for. Don't be afraid to ask others if they can help you establish the trading value of your pin(s). But remember the monetary value of a pin is only part of it true value. To one person a pin might mean little to them but to another the same pin might be priceless. So first things first GET EDUCATED. | ||
| Be Polite When someone walks up to you and wants to trade and shows you their pins never say something like "All the pins you have are junk" or "You don't have anything worth trading for". Be polite, if they don't have any pins that you are willing to trade for just tell them " That they have some very nice pins but they don't have anything that you are currently looking for". Always treat other traders the same way you want to be treated. | ||
| Multiple Trades What do you do if someone has a pin you really want but you don't have anything they want to trade for. Find out from that person what they are looking for and what they would be willing to trade their pin for. After you get some ideas start shopping around. You never know when you might find a pin the first person wants and you can work out a trade for that pin and now you are ready to trade with the first person for that pin you wanted so much. | ||
| Be Fair Never take advantage of someone else that may be just getting started and really doesn't know how to trade. If you are not new to pin collecting, remember you once where. If you have ever had a bad experience with someone else in a trade and ended up being taken advantage of, always remember how you felt afterwards. The best trades are the ones where both traders walk away happy with their new pin. | ||
